Take up has been good but a few diehards , like Husband , haven't got round to it . Hence various ad campaigns , extolling the carefree ease of being able just to hop on a train without queueing for a ticket . This morning he got a card from the train company , reminding him just how an OV-chipkaart would simplify his every journey ....

He's not convinced .
No - just thinking that the card wouldn't fit in the overhead bins on our trains and buses - and the awkwardness in a busy terminal would be something else. There'd be a chorus of 'excuse me', 'sorry', 'pardon me', 'hey, watch it'....and then they'd have to rework all the automatic ticket takers for the new size.
ReplyDeleteI'm with your husband.
I've been on Dutch trains once or twice and I found them clean, convenient and enjoyable. Of course I'd do anything to stay out of the way of all those bicycles.
ReplyDeleteDoes he realize that the woman of his choice comes along to carry it for him?
ReplyDeleteI can't beat June's comment, so won't even try.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteAnd June's comment is indeed a great one :-)
June's comment definitely wins the Comment Of The Year award , which will be presented to her at a ceremony later this month at Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Second .
ReplyDeleteGreat comment, June. I wonder what the train company were thinking about, too, to create this ad. Perhaps they wanted to provoke discussion...
