Next Year’s Diary
is virginal, bristling
with possibilities,
will be filled full -
appointments made (and kept),
birthdays remembered ,
deadlines met.
And somewhere
amongst the pages,
the date - the very hour
my life turns around
so I will say:
this was the year
that was the day.
